Research & Development - Objectives

To build an
                  “abode in adobe”

To develop a building vocabulary of materials and techniques which caters to contemporary tastes, yet derives its roots from the “vernacular architecture” of the place.
Incorporating the wisdom of vastu with principles of climatology.
To build our basic shelters, an average home that blends with nature while maintaning its unique sculputural beauty and functional aesthetics.
To use and promote construction materials and technology which is enviornment friendly and locally available.

To develop a module/sample of a ‘shelter’ that is affordable, comfortable, aesthetical, functional and ecofriendly.

      A WORD BY THE ARCHITECT:

You employ stone, wood and concrete, and with these materials you build houses & palaces, that is construction. But suddenly You touch my heart.......and I say, “This is beautiful”---------that is architecture”.
Years ago, the great architects, all over the world were applauded for buildings that took the natural environment into its integral design -------Frank Lloyd Wright being a pioneer, Today, the responsibility on us, architects, is far greater; with so much havoc been wrought to the earth’s natural resources already, its time to put a stop to this depletion. We need to design and construct sustainable buildings and even go  a step further and educate our local populance about the wisdom of the green building movement. Each city counts, each building counts, each drop counts.
India is poised for a major growth in the GREEN BUILDING sector and development on these lines will go a long way in contributing to the ecological of the country. It was important for our firm, IMARAT, to lead the way with sustainable construction of our own office building, because persuading our clients on the advantages of GREEN BUILDING it was imperative for our office building to be a role model.
We have always believed in VISION & INNOVATION. My goal is creating spaces that inspire us to strive for a higher consciousness. Our design approach seeks an amalgamation of eco effectiveness, sustainable development, functional convenience and visual appeal,

Eco Friendly : How to build a wall?

Firstly you need to make the Mud bricks, for that you put the mud into the brick frame and then allow thw bricks to dry under the sun for 21 days.
Mud Brick frame is available in two sizes:
      a) 6” x 1’-0”
      b) 6” x 6”
Then over the cill level you start building the wall from the mud bricks and the mortar used for mud bricks is of mud.

      Eco-friendly building materials

      Mudbrick

Mud bricks are made by mixing clay earth with water and sometimes straw (which helps stop the bricks cracking), then placing the mixture into moulds to dry in the sun. Mud bricks are joined with a mortar, made from a similar clay-water mix as the bricks themselves. They need to be protected from driving rain by paint, linseed oil or turpentine.
Mudbrick is one of the oldest building techniques, and one of the most eco-friendly. The only energy needed is sunshine and all the materials are natural. If you have suitable clay on your property or nearby, little or no transport is needed. With maintenance, it is very durable – mudbrick buildings have stood for centuries. And at the end of the building’s lifetime, the bricks will break down to earth again.
Because mud bricks are simple to make, they are a good choice for owner builders. However, making the bricks, while technically simple, is hard physical work and mudbrick is not a particularly good insulator.
